SK8-BMX-BLADING... WE'RE ALL THE SAME
Watching the way a board moves beneath a skaters feet is (to me) very mesmerising. Especially when it’s made to look easy, which is far from reality. Skateboarding is very technical, calculated and precise. You have to be, otherwise you’re f@#ked! The surface area they are running on is tiny in comparison to our BMX tyres, making their level of control some what magical.
10-15 years ago the development boom hadn’t hit so any set of stairs or a ledge was like finding a buried treasure. Being our rock is the size of a peanut, spots were / are limited and most times where there are bikers there are skaters and vice versa. Being teenagers full of testosterone there where times where I witnessed a couple of silly clashes. As long as we have mutual respect for each other and the obstacles available I feel that we can both have fun and express our selves through our own mediums.
This short split part put together after only a couple of sessions down at the park and is testament of how dialled Zac & Ilia (amongst others) are. I look forward to working on future projects with my fellow 4 wheeled misfits.
